What is a Tax Officer ?

Today, Gozem Group is developing more and more projects and has the ambition to expand in more French-speaking Africa with the aim of creating more impact in the development of African countries in sectors such as: transport, mobile money, deliveries, financing and E commerce. As part of this work, it is only natural that he should be confronted with relations with the various administrations of these countries, and thus be called upon to comply with the laws and regulations in force. The Tax Officer works alongside the Global Head of Accounting, the Global Head of legal and the Chief Financial Officer in the preparation of these various tax returns, as well as in relations with the various tax authorities.This position requires good analytical skills, an eye for detail and a high degree of rigor.

Your responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly returns within the regulatory deadlines set
  • Ensure that all taxes are regularly declared and that all group entities are up to date with their tax situation.
  • Work with the Global Head of accounting and the CFO on the production of monthly reports on a self-assessment of the Group's tax position and tax risks as well as proposed solutions
  • Ensure that a tax file is set up and maintained for all Group entities
  • Manage relations with tax authorities and help prepare for various tax audits
  • Work with the Global Head of Accounting, the Global Head of Legal and the Chief Financial Officer on possible avenues for tax optimization

You have :

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in finance, control and management (a degree in chartered accountancy would be an asset)
  • 2 years' relevant experience, ideally in finance
  • Knowledge of Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Mastery of the Google Pack ("Sheets",Google documents, Slides,etc...) and digital skills with the use of smartphones, Android and IOS would be an asset.
  • Rigorous, organized
