What is an Investment Associate?

The role starts with the management of all potential investors from equity to debt with a specific focus on Development Financial Institutions. It requires to run the full process from A to Z with negotiations, full due diligence, legal reviews and creation of all documentation and models. It requires the monitoring of the best investor opportunities based on our funding needs. Targeted investments will be debt, mezzanine, equity and structure products. Additional activities will include review of M&A targets and minority investments in strategic startups and partners. You will need to be organized, focused, demonstrate independent thinking and self-motivated with strong communication and analytical skills.

  • Investors sourcing: Take the lead in identifying and developing new investors opportunities in thematic areas that are a fit with our values, clients and approach
  • Guide due diligences on direct debt deals and equity
  • Build state of the art investment deck: With a strong understanding of our business needs and a strong focus on our KPI you will present appealing investment opportunities
  • Full transaction execution including financial modeling analysis, undertaking due diligence, negotiation of key terms and documentation
  • Reporting and investor engagement: Prepare, present and maintain detailed investment documentation for our investors on a quarterly basis
  • Proactively develop and manage relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, keep the CRM up-to-date and participate actively to all investors meetings
  • Manage multiple projects or workstreams to ensure high-quality on time delivery
  • Leading all aspects of the deal process including DD and presentation of internal Management Committee documents
  • Detailed financial analysis and valuations activities
  • Involvement in future fundraising activities: build financial models & business plan as requested by investors
  • Gathering market data to analyze trends and help value and price transactions.
  • Manage our data room: Prepare a crystal clear structure off our documentation, reporting and models
  • Working with colleagues across the business to source high quality deal flow as well as sourcing deal flow externally
  • Define Loan Tape, get a monthly vintage available to our investors
  • Engagement in the formulation of new business initiatives and of the investment strategy for the sector in particular identifying transactions and sub-sectors that could be appropriate investment targets
  • Engagement in on-going client reporting and contribute to the periodic review Assistance with the ongoing development and incorporation of ESG methodologies
  • Review and evaluate potential mergers and acquisitions, IPO and various equity linked corporate exercises,
  • Manage a wide range of corporate advisors (e.g, investment banks, solicitors, placement agents, equity capital advisory, brokerage advisory and various regulatory bodies),
  • Involvement in strategic planning from a corporate perspective,
  • Coordinate internally on matters such as tax, finance, accounting and operations,

Profil :

  • Master degree in Finance (having an MBA is a plus)

  • Around 5 years of experience working in an investment fund working on due-diligence, transaction execution processes, buy-side and sell-side M&A ( equity and debt financing transactions is a plus )

  • Experience of financial valuations with knowledge of DCF, LBO, merger modeling, comparable companies, precedent transactions etc.

  • Strong financial modeling skills (including stress testing) and experience of building/maintaining operating models required

  • Experience of preparing and maintaining industry/company presentations and benchmarking materials and other process documents required

  • Exposure to financing capacity valuations, impact analyses, bid analyses and collateral data analyses required

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Collegiate, strong team player and able to motivate and manage team members

  • Solid work ethic, motivation level, and strong attention to detail

  • Capacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact

  • Strong interest into fintech, innovation & super app

  • Fluent in English & French

  • Perfect use of Gsheet, Gslides & Gdoc.
